"Our daughter was premature, weighing only 3lbs. at birth.  The doctors told us we should expect some learning delays. She was diagnosed with speech and language delays when she was only three years old. She worked with a speech therapist and an occupational therapist for two years.  By the time she entered first grade, we realized that she was also struggling with processing and retention. At that time she was also diagnosed with ADD (the inattentive form).  We tried interventions, such as medication to help her focus and retain.  However, she experienced serious side-effects. 

As time went on the delays increased and the gap never closed. In fact, the gap was larger.

Since I am a school teacher, I am well aware of many interventions and special programs for children with learning disabilities, but we were not satisfied with any results.  Last June, we decided to try Nu-Brain.  I researched biofeedback, and thought it was reasonable to try this intervention.  My daughter only scored a 66 on the first TOVA inventory, but after eight weeks with biofeedback, she was able to sore a 107.  This told me that she had the ability to learn, but we needed to train her brain to access that ability.  She is currently out of the resource classroom and functioning in the general class with her peers.  She is more expressive, happier, and less fatigued and stressed about learning.  We have been pleased with her progress and she feels better about herself."

On Dyslexia:
I wanted to share a couple things with you…..Alea was elected to the Student Council of her elementary school today.  She is so excited.  Also, her mother Susan had a conference with her teacher last night.  She was excited about Janie's score on a standard reading test.  The test is given during each trimester.  Usually a student will improve a maximum of 9.5 points from one trimester to the next.  Alea improved 22 points! Alea is doing very well in school, and is getting A’s in everything, even reading.  She is enjoying being on the Student Council and in the school choir.

From an Overwhelmed Mother Having Difficulty:
Before I started Nu-Brain I was always getting myself involved in several tasks. When it came time to complete these tasks I would fill overwhelmed and have a hard time getting things accomplished.  I still have several tasks to complete, but after working with Nu-Brain I find that I am able to handle these tasks in a timely manner & not get overwhelmed.  I know I can complete these projects with a more calmer and less stressful attitude.  It is really wonderful how this has helped me.

From the Father of a Hyperactive Daughter
Our daughter was diagnosed with ADHD when she was in 1st grade.  Thinking it was the “right thing to do”, we started her on medications as suggested by her doctor.   The perception was that the medication was working – however, at the cost of her appetite that eventually led to her weight loss and the switching of the medication.  After two more switches of medication, and no real positive results (just more side affects), we started looking into other methods of treatment.

We were introduced to Nu-Brain through our daughter’s teacher and, after various consultations, we decided to remove our daughter from the medication and start the brain-map therapy.

Within the first two weeks, we noticed some amazing changes.  Our daughter was able to follow through and complete certain tasks that prior to the treatment she just couldn’t complete.  For example: 

One morning she had gotten up and got herself dressed (something that she just wasn’t able to accomplish by herself prior to starting the Nu-Brain sessions).  I had asked her to brush her teeth.  She said she wanted to eat breakfast first – which was fine.  Amazingly, after eating breakfast she promptly went into her bathroom and brushed her teeth – without being reminded.   It seems like a small task but for a child with ADHD, its HUGE!

Our daughter is just about finished with her therapy sessions and is doing incredible.  Her self-esteem has improved, as have her grades in school. I can’t (and don’t want to) imagine where she would be right now if she was still on the medications.
